According to court documents, the incident occurred when 50 Cent threw the microphone off stage after becoming frustrated that it wasn't working. Monegain claims she was hit by the microphone, causing injuries to her face and wrist. She also claims to have suffered a concussion, laceration over her forehead, pain in her left wrist, dizziness, headaches, light and sound sensitivity, and nausea.

Monegain is requesting repayment for past and future wage loss, hospital and medical expenses, general damages, attorneys' fees and costs of the lawsuit so far.

A Los Angeles radio host is suing the rapper for allegedly throwing a microphone at her head during a concert last summer, leaving her with "severe and permanent injuries.

In a complaint filed Thursday in Los Angeles Super Court and reviewed by EW, Power 106 host Bryhana Monegain accuses 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson), his company G-Unit Touring, and arena owner AEG of negligence and demands a jury trial.

While on stage Crypto.com Arena in August, 50 Cent appeared to grow frustrated after he was handed two defective microphones, prompting him to hurl one into the audience, as captured by video footage that made the rounds on social media at the time. Monegain's complaint says the mic hit her in the face and wrist, after which she was taken to a hospital by ambulance and treated for injuries, including "a concussion and laceration over her forehead and pain in her left wrist." She complained of "dizziness, headaches, light and sound sensitivity and nausea.

According to TMZ, Monegain filed a police report after the incident but no criminal charges were planned as of last November.

Monegain is suing for all special damages incurred, including hospital and medical expenses, and attorney fees, among other prayers for relief.

"No matter who the assailant is, this alleged act of negligence and violence is unacceptable and we will hold 50 Cent and his co-defendants accountable for their alleged actions," Monegain's attorneys John Morgan and Casey Kilday said in a statement provided to EW. "Mr. Jackson has himself previously said that 'if the talk ain't 'bout money, homie, I ain't concerned,' so we are confident our client will be fairly and justly compensated for the injuries she suffered.

Scott Leemon, an attorney for 50 Cent, didn't immediately respond to EW's request for comment Friday, but at the time of the incident he told EW that his client "would never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone." Leemon said, "Anyone saying something different doesn't have all the facts and is misinformed.
